My Life As A Princess

Okay, I'm not really a princess but it's definitely a close call. This blog is a product of love. Everybody should know about the cool things in life and sometimes also about the not-so-cool.

So Pretty, That's Me!

Thanks to Spa Week, I was able to get a full session facial at Murad Medical Spa for only $50 (regularly priced at $110).

Murad Medical Spa is not a relaxation spa. There are no jacuzzis, steam rooms, quiet rooms, etc. If that's what you're looking for, you wont find it there. Instead, you get professionals who specialize on your skin's concerns, evaluating your needs and using scientifically proven techniques to provide the ultimate treatment.

I left with skin that looks and feels healthy and radiant. Perfection!

Up High

West at the Hotel Angeleno has the prettiest view! Don't ask me about their food or drinks because I honestly don't know. I was there for a launch party of some sort and I didn't stay for too long. The place is chic and trendy, I'm guessing the food must be good. The view is spectacular!

Jam & Laugh

Jam on the Rocks

On Saturday, a couple of friends and I headed to Red Rock on the Sunset strip. This is one of my favorite places to go to when I feel like having a little bit of everything. The main floor offers casual dining where the menu is made of American classics, two bars, a dartboard and a smoking balcony. Upstairs, you'll find a lounge, another bar, a small dance floor and a smoking patio where the resident DJ spins pop, rock, R&B and a few surprise oldies here and there. The vibe is casual; there are no lines to get in, no cover charge, valet parking in the rear and no dress code… It's all about having a good time!

Laughter + Drinks = Happies!

On Sunday I visited the Improv Olympic West in Hollywood. I was originally headed towards the movies but got there late, so decided to check out a show instead. The Improv offers stand-up classes during the day and shows in the evenings. One of their students was Mike Meyers so you know there’s talent there. Making it to the 8 o’clock show allowed for an evening of sipping on great drinks and having a good laugh.

Sports & Beer: Not Only For Guys!

I’m not much into sports but I love it when a new season is starting and everyone is all hyped up! Yesterday, I joined the guys at Barney’s Beanery to watch the Clippers beat the Lakers.

Barney’s Beanery must have been designed for 20 something year-old guys. It’s loud, full of route 66 memorabilia, they serve up many variations of comfort food and a lot to choose from in beer.

The first Barney’s opened in Hollywood in the 1920s and has been a hit ever since. They branched out to Santa Monica in 2004 and then to Pasadena last year.

If you’re single, young and like sports, this is surely the place to be.

On The Verge of Death

I’ve been all about motion lately. Yoga, cycling, power-walking, dancing and hiking. I was talking about it with a co-worker over my morning coffee and he told me about Brand Park’s hiking trail. I checked it out yesterday.

2 steep miles of wilderness, fresh air and gorgeous vistas. Very steep. Killer steep – 800ft from the base! I started out doing great, halfway through the mountain I thought I might faint and as I finally started to see the top, my legs burned, my vision got blurry and I was so out of breath I thought I was going to die. I made it and the reward was priceless, you can see Los Angeles and the little houses down below, the boulevards and tiny cars, the air felt pure, the breeze energizing.

This was definitely the prettiest and most challenging workout I’ve had in a long time. Will totally do it again.

Side Note: It is recommended that you take a friend. There’s supposed to be mountain lions in the area!

Reign of Boredom

After an hour and twenty minutes I was ready for this movie to be over. It's touching, yes, but 45 minutes too long, it lost me.

Reign Over Me is the story of two old college roommates that bump into each other a decade later. After losing his family on 9/11, Adam Sandler's character is lost, with a busy family life, a booming career and no male friends, Don Cheadle's character is overwhelmed and their reunion serves as a therapeutic experience... It's a story of friendship and overcoming life's difficulties.

The film has great intentions but starts off vaguely and remains the same for the most part of it. Watch it if you have a lot of time to kill... 2 hours to be more specific!

Side Note: Donna Rocks! Man-crazy, obsessed women are completely hilarious, on film!
