My Life As A Princess

Okay, I'm not really a princess but it's definitely a close call. This blog is a product of love. Everybody should know about the cool things in life and sometimes also about the not-so-cool.

Once Again, Much To Tell

Walking Artistically

The second Thursday of every month, Downtown LA's galleries open their doors to the public for Downtown Art Walk, a self-guided tour featuring established and up-and-coming artists. Meli and I checked it out this month and it's something I can see myself adding to my calendar religiously. This event is well-planned, suiting for all tastes and accessible... In my book, very close to perfection!

Run Forest, Run

My very hot and sexy friend Mauro put together a team with some of his friends and signed up to race at The World Famous Mud Run in Camp Pendleton. I, as the wonderful friend that I am, joined them in support (and to see hot Marines). I never thought it would be so fun, even though the people competing were very serious about it, the main objective was to have fun and fun it was!

Tapas on a Tuesday

I was craving tapas and a friend said he knew just the place. We went to Cobras & Matadors, located close to The Grove, a small establishment that serves up tasty tapas in an unpretentious environment. My favorite was the cheese platter, which came strongly recommended by my handsome companion winning him a bunch of points in the Princess' book of eats! Delish!

Music for the Soul

If I didn't know any better, I would say that music flows through my veins instead of blood. Well, imagine the level of happiness in me when I meet a man who isn't only handsome and charming but to top it off makes beautiful music? I'm hooked! Check out his jams at his producer's page. Potpurri: A Little Bit Of Everything!

The time for me to deliver a new post arrives upon receiving your complaints. I know I've become inconsistent and my readers deserve so much better but hang in there. Here we go...

Funky Cool Japanese

My sister has a thing for everything Japanese, this includes sushi, anime and kimonos. For her 22nd birthday, a couple of her friends and I decided to take her to Geisha House in Hollywood, a sleek, hip place that serves up traditional Japanese food with a twist to the rhythm of hip hop and retro beats.

The food was great, the place is gorgeous, the drinks were average and the personnel was totally fantastic. Oh, and cool bonus: We met Wilmer Valderrama who stopped by our table offering the birthday girl a picture and happy wishes!

Women in Lingerie

N² Entertainment had an event at the Montmartre Lounge/Day After to promote Ms. Luster Lingerie. The Montmartre Lounge was established in 1922 and has a history of housing spectacular events and celeb-rich parties. It was fun but I don't have much to say about it, after a couple of very strong drinks, who can pay attention to detail?

Flaming Margaritas

My parents came to visit for the weekend and we celebrated Father's Day early. We went to El Compadre on Sunset Boulevard where we waited about an hour to be seated. While waiting for our table, we sat by the bar sipping on their signature Flaming Maragaritas and enjoying the scenery. I had been there before since it's one of my father's favorite spots, but never had a seen such a young, trendy crowd, the place must be turning hip. The live music and friendly staff makes for an enjoyable time. There's nothing special about the menu and by the time you get to eat you'll most likely be drunk so it will taste delicious.

Go with a group and hold on to the chips or the Margaritas will kick your butt!

Rosario: Beautiful & Dangerous

I love foreign films; I know I've stated this before. Now, a Colombian film comes closer to my heart and Rosario Tijeras was simply amazing! This sums it up well: "I was completely under the movie's spell... The character is so raw, so corrupted, demonstrates the beauty that can come from someone who's lived in her own hell. My family is originally from Colombia, so I understand the situations well... Beauty isn't only found in the high-class society...it's everywhere, and if anything, her beauty gives her even more power. The fact that the movie goes back and forth, always returning to the beginning of everything, and relating it to the end keeps you tuned. It's clever that the director chose not to point out the changes in time throughout the film... It keeps it flowing... The main character has such a beautiful pain within her; you come out of the theater in love with her whether you're a man or a woman. She'll dazzle you. Overall, this movie mixes the drama of life, and laughs at it at some points. You're guaranteed to cry, laugh, gasp, claw your nails in your seat...and come out replaying all the scenes in your head." (Comment from an IMDB User)

Side Note: I'm madly in love with the character Unax Ugalde plays in this film. That (without the coke addiction) is the man of my dreams).

Sacred Beauty

I'm not much of a churchgoer and I'm definitely not religious but I have to admit that I like visiting old churches, cathedrals and why not, the modern ones too. As an Angeleno, I can't believe I had never visited the Cathedral Of Our Lady Of The Angels. I had heard about its beauty and agreed that it was time to check it out.
I must admit that I was very disappointed. I didn't find it to be beautiful or enchanting. It seemed to me like a block of concrete that felt cold and distant. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; to others it may be gorgeous!
