My Life As A Princess

Okay, I'm not really a princess but it's definitely a close call. This blog is a product of love. Everybody should know about the cool things in life and sometimes also about the not-so-cool.

Home Sweet Home: Back in LA

As soon as we hit LA ground we decided to freshen up at home and go out!

Cabana Club: Beach Feel With Hollywood Rules.

"Located behind Amoeba Music, Cabana Club feels miles away from the traffic jams and punk kids eating from street stands outside. The hidden-oasis patio conjures a beach vacation with palm trees, cabanas, waterfalls and a shallow pool. Club goers sit on oversize couches next to tiled European-style tables, where even the outdoor air feels ocean-fresh. (How did they do that?) Inside, the gold and brown palette is equally luxurious. Like Breed's other nightclub White Lotus, which has since closed, Cabana revives the Hollywood glamor that he set out to encapsulate when he moved from London, via New York, in the '90s."

My thoughts: Pretty cool in terms of setting and music. The staff is a pain in the ass... So Hollywood.

I Want To Be A Pirate

I don't care what the reviews say. I loved it! I'm madly in love with Depp, Bloom and the rest of the cast. I didn't feel lost or overwhelmed. The action sequences rocked my boat and it never slowed down. I loved the humor in it, the story line and the setting... Perfect! Can't wait for the next to come. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End takes the boot with style!

Cal-Italian Served Outdoors

Memorial Day Monday was a lazy day for me. After sleeping in, I joined a couple of friends at Villa Sorriso in Pasadena. Here, you can sit inside or out, order a Martini or a glass of wine and enjoy delicious California bistro fare.

In the evenings, they sometimes have a DJ and a party takes off for your enjoyment. In the daytime, it's a great place for a good lunch full of charm.

Visiting The Parentals: Don't Bother in Arizona!

My sister and I drove 4 ½ hours to Arizona with the purpose seeing Mom for her birthday and spending some time away from the city and devoted to our parents. They live in a small town in the middle of nowhere so there wasn't much to do. So with not much to do one has to improvise... So I did.

Movie Time: Sexo, Pudor & Lágrimas (Sex, Shame and Tears)

Directed by Antonio Serrano, Sexo, Pudor y Lágrimas is a comedy with strong psychological undertones dealing with lack of satisfaction in relationships and why it happens.

You'll laugh and enjoy it but it will leave you thoughtful and slightly sad. It's not all peachy when dealing with lust and the heart.

Work Out: Power Walk & Abs

My parents have a Treadmill and Ab Master in their home. I decided to take advantage of this and get some exercise done while doing not much at all.

First off, we have the NordicTrack X10 Incline Trainer which is swift and easy to use, very fun. The incline feature kicks ass!

Then we have the Ab Master, which seems like it would be great but really didn't do much for me. I did 5 sets of 30 reps for 4 days and never felt a thing... Maybe I wasn't doing it right... It makes working your abs fun but it might not work at all...

After 4 days in Arizona's small town, home to my Parents, cactus, rattlesnakes and some wild bunnies, we were ready to get back to the city and away from the dessert!

Jazz Me Up Honey!

From the outside, Jax Bar & Grill looks like some dive bar from the east coast. You walk in and its narrow locale decorated with wooden furniture and some side booths make you feel like you just left Los Angeles and entered New York. You find happy people enjoying their hearty meals and jamming to hot jazz. This place is hot. It's all about Jazz baby, with live performers, 7 nights a week, it's all they've been doing for the past 15 years.

Meli and I ordered nachos and a cheap bottle of wine. We had girl talk and enjoyed the amazing music. A Saturday night spent with a good friend and great music is perfect, what else could I ask for?

Sad: One Blogger Gone.

Our fellow blogger Denis passed away Monday night. In a perfect world, addiction wouldn't exist, temptation would be a joke, and life would be easier. May he rest in peace surrounded by angels of happiness and all the sweetness in heaven.

Aracnophobic: Please Kill That Spider.

Truth is I didn’t have high expectations for Spider Man 3. Nevertheless, I never thought it would disappoint me so much. Instead of getting an action packed summer flick, you get a romantic drama that simply chills during its mid-section, dragging on for an hour and finally, towards the end, some loose ends come together but that sense of yearn for a sequel to Spider Man’s 2 greatness is not satisfied and you’re sent home feeling like you just wasted 2 ½ hours of your precious time.

The only things this movie has going on are the awesome black suit and some scarce state-of-the-art action sequences that unfortunately get lost with the many storylines assigned to all characters and all the crying from all Spidey, his Grandma, M.J. and the villains.

Two thumbs down. Wait for it to come out on DVD.

Party: Bodies Shake in Las Vegas!

I met up with Claudia (my hot friend from New York) In Las Vegas for a weekend of fun surrounded by slot machines, blackjack, booze and poker.

We were supposed to meet on Friday evening but her flight got delayed 4 hours. Luckily, lovely Gina was in Vegas too and we got hooked up with VIP entrance and an all night champagne pass at Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel (one of my favorite places in Vegas). Steve Taylor was hosting a Fashion Show and the dj was spinning jams that were out of this world! I love that place, it's totally awesome. Bluntly put, that's all I'm going to say.
