My Life As A Princess

Okay, I'm not really a princess but it's definitely a close call. This blog is a product of love. Everybody should know about the cool things in life and sometimes also about the not-so-cool.

Beautiful Escape

I watched Pan's Labyrinth yesterday. To begin with I have to say I just love Spanish films, they're fantastic, but with this one I was simply blown away. El Laberinto del Fauno blends a fairy tale with political history during a time of war in Spain. It's a masterpiece! Beautiful yet disturbing, it wont allow you to blink and once it's all over, you feel moved and somewhat relieved.

What a wonderful film! Definitely a must-see!

Birthday Bash!

Last weekend was a busy one for me. It was the weekend of my birthday and everyday was a celebration.

Here’s a small re-count:

Friday Afternoon - Light Lunch and Pamper Me Time.

I had lunch with an old friend at the Cheesecake Factory in Old Town Pasadena. Their Chicken Spinach Salad is to die for and their Lettuce Thai Wraps are fantastic. I don't care if this is a chain-restaurant (I usually hate chains) but this place rocks, there's always something for every taste. After lunch I headed over to Burke Williams Spa where I indulged in a Pure Relaxation Massaged followed by one of their signature treatments called Hunter's Retreat, where they scrub you, wash you and massage moisturizing oils on your whole body, leaving you refreshed and sparkly!

Friday Evening – Chicken Dance & Sake Bomb!

A bunch of us got together at Tokyo Delves in North Hollywood where we ate mediocre food, had fabulous sake bombs and did the chicken dance making it an awesome time.

“Sushi chefs dressed in fluorescent green and pink coats dance and sing to deafening, pulsating beats while diners are encouraged to dance, sing and do a few sake bombs”

Friday Night - Swing Those Hips Baby!

It was the grand opening of KukaraMakara and a table was reserved especially for me. My friends and I shook our hips to the latin beats and partied all night!

(site information and pictures for KukaraMakara are currently not available)

Saturday - Lunch & A Movie

My sister, three little fabulous friends and I had lunch at Disney's Soda Fountain in Hollywood where I sacrificed all diets to enjoy a Chocolate Sunday. Immediately after lunch we headed next door to Disney's El Capitan Theatre for a showing of their new movie Bridge to Terabithia.

Abracadabra – Magical Moments!

On Valentines Day, my boyfriend surprised me with a marvelous outing. Joined by 3 of our favorite couples, we dined, wined and enjoyed a spooktacular show at The World Famous Magic Castle in Hollywood.

The castle was originally built as a private home (more like a mansion) in 1908 and it is now home to the Academy of Magical Arts where only members or their guests may visit. It’s a magical, wonderful place, definitely a great experience.

Who Said So?

I went to see “Because I Said So” mainly for the cast. I absolutely LOVE Diane Keaton, Mandy Moore can do a good job when given a good script, Lauren Graham and Stephen Collins are sweethearts and Gabriel Macht is HOT - *swoon*. The film is okay, just that, a lukewarm, lighthearted, 90 minutes of entertainment. It’s a single-story film based on a Mother trying to get her youngest daughter to find the right man. It’s your typical mother-daughter bonding story with a splash of romanticism and a very pretty picture. I loved the wardrobe selection!

It’s perfect for a rental to watch with the girls on pajama night or a good Mom and Daughter evening of watching girly films. Whatever you do, don’t take your boyfriend!

*He gets a picture just because he's so HOT!

Super Bowl - Cowboy Style

This post comes in a little late but I can't fail to deliver the excitement of the Super Bowl at The Saddle Ranch Chop House on Sunset Boulevard. This western themed restaurant serves up very tasty meals, bull rides and signature drinks that will blow you off your chair. The Saddle Ranch has been for many a home away from home for socializing with a western charm and to newcomers it is an instant source of awe.

I'm the kind of person that gets bored with places easily but here, no matter how many times I visit, it's always an amazing, fun time!
